Mostly we "wet wade" in New Zealand throughout the Summer season as water temperatures are generally quite mild. This requires solid sturdy foot wear (boots) and clothing that will get wet, so don't forget to bring a dry change of cloths.
Wading boots and gravel guards are available to hire if you require them.
Walking rivers requires walking on mostly uneven and somewhat unstable ground. The potential to slip or fall is always an existing hazard.
A personal locator beacon is carried at all times to ensure help is always at hand in the unlikely event of an accident.
A packed lunch will be supplied for you along with bottled water. Please specify any food allergies that you may have at the time of booking your trip, so I can get a suitable lunch made for you.
The weather in New Zealand can be very unpredictable turning over night without a lot of warning. Safety in and around water is my number one priority. On the very rare occasions that conditions make it impossible to find somewhere to fish in safe conditions I may need to cancel or reschedule the trip. Under these circumstances I will make every effort to find a replacement day/ days that will suit your availability otherwise a full refund will be paid.
A days fishing can vary in travel time from 1-2 hours each way.
All leaders, tippets and my own personally tied flies are provided on your trip. My fly patterns will most certainly give you the edge, as I have developed them for the waters I guide in over years of trial. I use Rio tippets and leaders as I believe these to be the most reliable.
Travel insurance is advised to cover yourself in the event of your own need to cancel. Please discuss these terms with your insurer to make certain you are covered
